Back from the SFX Weekender…

…and what a great event it was too. Congratulations to the SFX team for making it happen. Here’s a photograph (with thanks to James Brown) of the Gollancz panel in full flow:

From right to left there you have: David Bradley (editor of SFX), Joe Abercrombie, Justina Robson, Richard Morgan, Chris Wooding, me and Tom Lloyd. And just out of shot on either side of us (you can see a foot from each one) were two huge dogs from Ghostbusters. Nice!

Sounds like it was an awesome weekend, I wish I could have come along. It looks like there was quite a few people in the crowd in that piicture, how do you cope with the focus on yourself?

Personally, I jabber nervously about how I don’t want to talk for a couple of hours beforehand, then I get on stage and I’m okay! It’s the build-up I don’t like!

Thing is, as I keep being reminded, I’m generally asked to talk about a). things that I know and b). subjects that I love, so they just give me the nod and the bullshit starts flowing!
